How To Buy Nintendo Switch 2 - Nintendo US

Sign in with your Nintendo Account and register your interest in purchasing a Nintendo Switch™ 2 system and select accessories from the official My Nintendo Store. We’ll be in touch with an invitation email once it’s your turn to shop.

Open to Nintendo Account holders in the U.S. and Canada, who are at least 18 years old. If you are eligible, an invitation email will be sent to the email address associated with your Nintendo Account when it is your time to purchase. The invitation will be valid for 72 hours. Invitation emails will be prioritized on a first-come, first-served basis to registrants who have purchased a Nintendo Switch Online membership with a minimum of 12 months of paid membership and a minimum of 50 total gameplay hours, as of April 2, 2025. Once invitation emails have been sent to all registrants meeting the priority criteria, invitations will be sent to remaining eligible registrants on a first-come, first-served basis.

Invitations are non-transferable and will be sent to the email address associated with the Nintendo Account that registered interest in purchasing Nintendo Switch 2. Optional accessories will be available to purchase alongside your system. For system and each accessory, limit one purchase per eligible Nintendo Account during the invitation period.

Nintendo Account holders in the US and Canada who are at least 18 years old are eligible to register.

The first batch of invitations will go out starting May 8, 2025, with additional batches of invitation emails sent periodically until purchasing on My Nintendo Store is opened to everyone.

Initial invitation emails will be delivered on a first-come, first-serve basis to eligible registrants who meet the priority criteria. Invitees will have 72 hours from the time when the email is sent to complete their purchase.

Priority requirements are as follows: As of 4/2/2025, (i) you must have been the one who purchased any Nintendo Switch Online membership, (ii) you must have had any paid Nintendo Switch Online membership for a minimum of 12 months, and (iii) you must have opted in to share gameplay data and have at least 50 hours total gameplay hours.

The full payment will be required at time of checkout.

My Nintendo Store accepts Visa, Mastercard, Google Pay, and Apple Pay as payment methods.

Please note that My Nintendo Store does not accept Nintendo eShop gift cards.

Orders for Nintendo Switch 2 will ship to the U.S. (including U.S. territories and APO/FPO address) and Canada.

Shipping is available to P.O. Boxes in the U.S. and Canada.

My Nintendo Store orders cannot be picked up at retail locations (including the Nintendo NEW YORK or Nintendo SAN FRANCISCO stores).

Orders will be shipped after purchase. Your purchase window will be shown in your invitation email and your approximate ship date will be provided at time of ordering.

Please note that release-day delivery is not guaranteed due to processing and shipment times.

Make sure that you can log in to My Nintendo Store using your Nintendo Account.

Invitations are non-transferrable. You will need to use the same Nintendo Account to checkout as when you registered.

Make sure to have the appropriate payment method available to complete your purchase. You will have 72 hours from the time the email is delivered to complete the purchase and can re-try payment if it is declined during that timeframe. If you don’t complete your purchase, your items will be removed from your My Nintendo Store cart at the end of the 72-hour window.

To ensure successful and secure delivery, please determine your shipping address ahead of time. Shipping address updates will be unavailable after your completed order has been shipped.

My Nintendo Store will have a variety of additional items that can be included with your purchase of Nintendo Switch 2.
